Obituary

It is with sadness, but a shout of victory, that the family of the late Harold George Huxter of Springdale, NL, aged 76, announces his Home Going, on Tuesday, September 22, 2021.

He is predeceased by his parents, Roland & Flora Huxter; brothers, William Huxter, Fred Huxter, Harry Huxter, & Roy Huxter; sisters, Doris Knight, Ada Huxter, & Nellie Tizzard.

Butch leaves to mourn and remember with fond and loving memories of the wonderful life that he lived, his devoted wife, Rosemary of 52 years; sons, Kent (Paola) Huxter, & Stephen Huxter; granddaughters Hayley, Makenna, Valentina; brother, Jim (Betty) Huxter; sisters, Lillian Normore, Grace (Wallace) Foss, & Lorraine Huxter; as well as many extended family members & friends.

Harold was born on February 24, 1945 at Woodford's Cove. He grew up in Springdale and lived there most of his life. He married the love of his life Rosemary Elliott on November 9, 1968. They had two sons, Kent and Stephen.

Harold made a commitment to the Lord 1990. He was very active in the work of the Lord, serving in various positions at the Springdale Pentecostal Church, as president of the Men's Ministries, usher/greeter and served on several committees.

He worked as a carpenter for many years. He loved to do wood working, salmon fishing, hunting, as well as spending time in the great outdoors. He also loved to spend time with his family at his cabin in West Pond. He had a committed passion for souls and was a prayer warrior.

In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines, there will be a public visitation Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm from Green Bay Funeral Home, 145 Cpl. S. Bouzane Blvd., Springdale, NL.

The Celebration of Life Service was held from The Pentecostal Church, Springdale, on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Foster officiating. Pallbearers were nephews Wilbert Huxter, Roger Knight, Dave Huxter, Rene Normore; special friends Bill Hamilton, Jerome Hustins. Interment was at the Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Springdale. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

Rosemary, Stephen, Kent and family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to all friends, family members, Pastors Foster, Sampson and Flynn; Health care workers from the Hospital and Valley Vista Seniors Home for the exquisite care, attention and love given to our precious loved one. Many of you went above and beyond. To all who prayed for us through the recent difficult months of sickness, the phone calls, cards, food, expressions of sympathy and much more…we sincerely thank you.

Thanks be to God for all of you, may you be blessed by Him. He is our Strength and Peace.
