It is with great sadness that the family of the late Greta Maxine Chatman (nee Milley) of Springdale, NL, age 80, announces her passing on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale, NL.

Greta was a kind and warm hearted woman. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She enjoyed her daily walks to Oxford Lower Place when she lived at home. She always thought of others and would do anything to help anyone.

As she grew older Greta spent endless hours by the window in her rocking chair. There you would find her knitting or doing puzzles during the day and reading her bible at night before going to bed.

She loved going to church and enjoyed singing. Her eyes would brighten up every time her grandkids and great grandkids would come to visit her. Greta will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by 1 ^st husband James Chatman; 2 ^nd husband Ray Whalen; parents Elijah and Maggie Milley; sisters Marjorie Pynn, Evangeline Jacobs, Phyllis Bowers, Gladys Oxford; brothers Bill Wells, Alfred Milley; great-granddaughter Kayla Wells.

Greta leaves to remember the wonderful life that she lived, daughters Christine (Eddie) Wells, Louise (Neil) Young, Katrina Butt (Jerry Penney); grandchildren Edmund (Anita) Wells, Kim Wells (Bruce Taylor), James Young (Amanda Folkes), Lisa Young (Chris Noftle), Kirk (Holly) Butt, Kent (Alexandra) Butt, Faith Butt (Mark Hicks); great-grandchildren Kaylee Wells, Kane Wells, Renya Young, Jaxon Stone, Karlie Bennett, Leah Butt, Felix Butt, Clark Butt, Katie-Lynn Butt; sister Bonnie (Lloyd) Pinsent; brothers Arthur Milley, Gerald Milley, Calvin (Minnie) Milley, as well as many other extended family members and friends.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Springdale Pentecostal Church, Springdale on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Lindsey Foster officiating, assisted by Pastor William Sampson. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Cherry Crescent, Springdale. The pallbearers were grandchildren Lisa Young, James Young, Kent Butt, Kirk Butt, Edmund Wells, Kim Wells. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford at Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
