It is with sadness that the family of the late Gordon Murray Roberts of Triton, NL, age 85, announces his tragic passing, on Saturday, February 13, 2016.

Gordon was born to Fredrick and Pearl Roberts on July 14, 1930 in Card''s Harbour. He met Nellie Berg and married her on December 27, 1951.

Together they raised three sons and three daughters and were the proud grandparents of eight grandsons and one granddaughter. They were the great-grandparents of twins, Luke and Olivia, Aiden, Sophie, and Griffin. His family was very important to him, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gordon was a fisherman the majority of his life. He always enjoyed going to his camp in Julie''s Harbour rabbit catching. He also enjoyed cutting firewood, moose hunting, trout fishing, and berry picking.

In the summer of 2011, Pastor Avis Rideout led him to the Lord while visiting at his home.

Gordon is predeceased by his wife Nellie Roberts; parents Fredrick and Pearl Roberts; brothers Pleman Roberts, Rodger Roberts, Stafford Roberts; sister Maisie Winsor.

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Leaving to remember the wonderful life that he lived are sons Terry (Kay), Bob (Loretta), Randy (Tobi-Ann); daughters Claris (Warren Strong), Cindy (Barry Vincent), and Sally; grandsons Craig, Jody, Jeffrey, Mark, Grant, Jake, Rocky, Trevor; granddaughter Nikita; great-grandchildren Luke, Olivia, Aiden, Sophie, Griffin. He was predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Pearl Roberts.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Maranatha Pentecostal Tabernacle, Triton, NL on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kent Sceviour officiating assisted by Pastor Mark Foster. Interment was at the Triton Evergreen Cemetery, Triton, NL. Pallbearers were sons Terry Roberts, Bob Roberts, Randy Roberts; grandson Mark Roberts, niece''s son Blake Roberts; friend/neighbour David White. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Chris Morgan, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
