It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Gordon Sanford Prowse age 88 of Harry's Harbour, NL, announces his passing on September 7, 2023.

He leaves to remember with fond and loving  memories; nieces Pansy Prowse (Sterling Freake), Edna (Glen) Newbury, Wanda (Matthew) Wallace; great nieces Pamela Prowse (Brenden), Abigail Prowse (Blair),April Pynn (Ryan) and family, Kendall Saunders (Mark) and family;  nephew Trevor (Roslyn), great nephews Quentin Newbury, Devon Newbury (Crystal) and Family, Nicholas Wallace, and Logan Wallace.

Gordon is predeceased by his parents Willis and Beatrice Prowse; brother Leslie Prowse; sister Verbena Prowse; brother Basil Prowse; sister-in-law Mavis Prowse, caregivers Marie and Wesley Budgell.

Gordon was born at Harry's Harbor, NL to Willis and Beatrice Prowse on Feb 18, 1935. He was a very active man. He went to school at Stephenville, NL in 1972 to take a Grader course. He worked underground at a mine in Manitoba in 1973. In 1976 he went to Hamilton, ON and worked at United Steel (Stelco) Refinery Company, until he retired in 1993.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home on Monday September 11, 2023 at 2pm and Major Gerald Lacey officiated. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Harry's Harbour, NL  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Andrea Cole of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

The pallbearers were Quentin Newbury, Eric Tuck, Earl Tuck, Barry Noble, Kerry Noble, Bryce Burton
