It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Gill Huey Fifield of Pilley's Island, NL, age 61, announces his tragic passing on September 4, 2022. He leaves to remember with beautiful memories of the wonderful life he lived, his wife Diane; sons Mark Fifield, Owen Fifield, James (Amy) Fifield; daughters Melissa Fifield, Sabrina Fifield (Reg Moulton); grandchildren Alexis Fifield, Kylie Roberts, Liam Roberts, Ava Fifield, Finley Fifield; mother Pearl Fifield; brothers Rob (Hugette), Arthur, Mervin (Colleen), Billy (Jennifer), Alan (Lorna), Harvey (Riley), Oliver (Eleanor), Terry (Kimberly); sisters Violet (Wayne) Day, Daisy (Corey) Fudge, Rose (Lorenzo) Hunt, Suzanne (Layton) Rice, Pansy (Dean) Collin's, Michelle (Terrance) Roberts, Bernice (Roger) White, Kay (Stacey) Henstridge. Gill is predeceased by his father, Cyril Fifield.

Gill was a man who had a deep understanding of what it is to love, a family man first and foremost. He cherished his wife - often using the phrase 'To the one I love' when referring to her. He adored his children and grandchildren with his whole heart, and loved his whole family profoundly. Gill loved the outdoors, spending many days and nights surrounded by the serenity of nature at his cabins over the years, often travelling over the ocean in his old boats to get there. He also worked much of his life in the great outdoors, never backing down from even the hardest work. He loved reading, music, writing and working with his hands. Gill had a unique humour that will never be forgotten, often delivered with quick-witted precision. His gentleness, wisdom, kindness and warm soul impacted countless people during his beautiful life.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The United Church, Pilley's Island, NL, on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mike Freake officiating. Urnbearer was wife Diane. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

Cremation has taken place with Inurnment at a later date.
