It's with broken hearts that the family of the late Geraldine Mckay of South Brook, NL, age 78 announces her passing from the Green Bay Heath Center, NL, September 16, 2021.

Geraldine J.M Mckay was born on September 16, 1943, in Pelley's Island, NL, to Ralph and Stella Anstey. At the young age of 17, in August 1961, she married the love of her life, Selby Mckay of South Brook. Geraldine and Selby raised four children together. They were later blessed with lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and cherished deeply. She was a devoted wife and mother and surely loved all her grandchildren.

Geraldine was soft spoken. She was always the one to make sure everyone else was ok before herself.  She was the rock of the family, the one who kept everyone in line. She looked at the best of every situation. She loved beyond measures. When visiting her home, you would not leave hungry. She was passionate about her friends and family.

Geraldine is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Stella Anstey; brothers Bert Anstey, Ralph Anstey, Roland Anstey; brother-in-laws Mike Mckay, Bud Mckay, Patrick Mckay, Ernie Mathews, Sedrick Penny, Lewis Mckay; sister, Marion Guy.

She left indelible memories for her family and friends to cherish forever. Geraldine leaves to mourn and to remember the wonderful life she lived, her loving husband Selby Mckay; sons Lewis Mckay, Robert Mckay, Richard Mckay; daughter Dianne Burton; grand-children Rick Burton (Shelley), Racheal Burton, Serena Newbury, Hannah Mckay, Bobby Mckay; great-grandchildren Allianna Newbury, Reaghan Newbury, Charleigh Mckay, Kai Mckay, Ava Mckay, Jacob Burton, William Burton, Elizabeth Burton, Matthew Burton, Madison Burton, EllieMay Burton, Madeline Burton, Claire Burton, Amaya Burton; sisters Annie Hilliard, Lilian Chipp, Olive Anstey (Ronny), Georgina Sheppard; sister-in-laws Ilene Anstey, Mildred Anstey, Winnie-May Anstey, Stella Mckay, Mavis Mckay; brother Arthur Anstey (Gloria);  nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service was held at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, South Brook on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor William Sampson officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, South Brook. Pallbearers were sons Lewis McKay (son), Robert McKay (son), Richard McKay (son), Ricky Burton (grandson), Jacob Burton (Great-grandson), Eric Thomas (family friend), John Matthews (family friend) Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
