Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Geoffrey Calvin Upward, age 60, of Silverdale, NL announce his passing on December 27, 2022

Geoffrey leaves to remember with beautiful memories his wife Donna Upward; daughter Natasha (Cody Reid) Upward; granddaughter Addison; mother Madelyn Upward; brothers Lorne (Jill) Upward, Leon Upward; sisters Paula (Ed Patey) Upward,  Janice Dobbin; as well as many other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

Geoffrey is predeceased by his father Calvin Upward.

The loss of a precious love one is never easy. Sudden, unexpected loss is different again. On December 27, 2022, our world was shattered our hearts broken. Precious, first born, child of Calvin and Madelyn Upward, Geoffrey Upward was lost to us.

He was a gentle man who loved his family dearly and in return was loved dearly by his family.

He had  a great love of  the outdoors, being at the cabin, lunching in the woods. Toasted bologna sandwich on an open fire. "Nothing like it !"

Loving husband to his wife Donna. Adoring father of Natasha (Cody) and proudest poppy to his darling Addy. They were his pride and joy. He was so proud of all of Natasha's accomplishments. His girls were everything to him. He got so much enjoyment when spending time with Addy. Her sparkling personality would always bring him happiness, He would beam with pride every time he spoke to her.

He was an awesome brother to his siblings, Paula, Leon, Lorne and Janice (Brad). Ready to lend a hand if needed. Never expecting anything in return. Always so appreciative when someone did something for him., Always shared a special kinship with his brother-in-law Ralph, sister-in-law Nola.

His nephews and nieces each held a special place in his heart as soon as they came into his life.DNA didn't matter. If you were connected to the family, he loved you. Logan and Tristen spent many times with him, sharing stories and more often then not, a few laughs. He was proud of the fact that they were following in his footsteps as a Diamond Driller and the good job they are doing. Always so happy to spend time with Brayden and watching him grow into a young man. Some may be far away as adults, but he still spoke of Heather and Jeremy, hoping all was well with them.

He spent many years working as a Diamond Driller and often spent long periods away from home, becoming one of the best in the industry. All in an effort to provide for his family. Some of his co-workers, over the years, becoming life-long friends.

Your wings were ready, our hearts were not. We will love you and carry you in our hearts forever. Addy will remember you, we will make sure of that. Oh the stories that we will tell! We will honor you ! Your love will be in the warm sunshine and every breeze, RIP

Too well loved to be forgotten!

As per Geoffrey's wishes, cremation has taken place, with burial at a later date.
