It is with sadness that the family of the late Frank Winsor age 74 of Robert's Arm, NL. announces his sudden passing on December 11, 2013.

Frank was born to Andrew and Emma Winsor at Lance au Pigeon on January 12, 1939. He met and married the love of his life, Fern Winsor, August 19, 1958 and together they raised four sons and one daughter. At the age of fifteen he went to work in the woods. After a few years there Frank went to work at the mines at Whales Back, Gull Pond as an hoist man - which he took great pride in. After a mining accident, he took a job as a cook with his great friend, Bram Rice. He then spent a little time in the construction industry before taking a job at the fish plant where he spent a few years which brought him to his retirement. He had many hobbies which often centered around the woods and the water. He was very creative and was big into woodworking. He made many model boats, a lighthouse, a log cabin and a Salvation Army Church modeled after the "Church on the Hill". He took great pride in these things and loved to modestly show them off. He also loved for people to come into his house so that he could get out his button accordion and mouth organ and have a "big time on". Music and friends had a huge place in his heart. Frank had many friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was pre-deceased by his parents; sisters, Gladys Hodge & Joyce Ward; daughter-in-law, Cathy McDonald Winsor. He leaves to mourn: wife, Fern; sons, Archie, Paul, Pat (Donna), & Mark (Amanda); daughter, Kelly (Roger) Morey; brother, Boyce (Brenda) Winsor; sister, Minnie Clements; grandchildren, Laura, Chad, Joshua, Cody, Nathan, Samantha, Shana, Jacob & Emily. Also, a large number of relatives and friends. A memorial service took place on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 from The Salvation Army, Robert''s Arm with Major Lillian Pelley officiating. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Robert's Arm. Pallbearers were sons, Archie, Paul, Pat & Mark and Todd Winsor & Terrance Roberts. Funeral arrangements were made by Gail Noel & Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
