Frank Elliston
Blake
Dec 5, 1943 — Sep 4, 2020
King's Point, NL
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that the family of the late Frank Elliston Blake, age 76 of King's Point, NL announces his passing from the Carmelite House Palliative Care, Grand Falls-Windsor on September 4, 2020.
Frank was born on December 5, 1943, in Gander Bay, and was the oldest of 11 children of Ivy and Wallace Blake. He became a father of 3 daughters, and he was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. Frank spent most of his working life in the woods as a logger. He dearly loved outdoor activities like moose hunting, salmon fishing, skidooing, going on the quad and berrypicking.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and son, and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Frank was a kind and gentle man who rarely raised his voice, and he loved to have a laugh. He became a Christian at 60 and was never afraid of sharing his beliefs. His unwavering faith was evident when going through hard times or good times. He loved to go to church but because of failing health in later years, it was often difficult for him to get there. But even when he had to struggle to stand, he would often give his heartfelt testimony and talk about how much he loved the Lord. Although he didn't want to leave his wife and family behind, death did not scare him, and he looked forward to going to heaven and being reunited with his parents and baby boy. He said he knew that once he got to heaven, all the pain and sickness would be no more, and he would be able to see how beautiful everything was.
No one loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much!
Frank was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Ivy Blake; son baby Frank Blake.
He leaves to remember with love and fond memories his wife Maxine Blake; daughters Daphne Blake (Lindsey Ginn), Dana (Shawn) Torraville, Darlene (Paul) Jenkins; stepson Laurie (Sandie) Card; stepdaughters Jackie Card, Melanie Card (Blair Murphy); brothers Hubert (Daisy) Blake, Cyril (Frances) Blake, Gerald (Pansy) Blake, Howard (Carrie) Blake, Lester (Anna) Blake, Curtis Blake, Elvis (Faith) Blake; sisters Mary (Harold) Ginn, Doris (Robert) Harbin, Valerie (Ron) Blake; grandchildren Brittany (Davis) Canning, Brady Burt, Julia (Chesley) Ginn, Kayla Torraville, Matt Torraville, Damien Hancock, Ryan Card; great grandchildren Aria Canning, Jaida Ginn, Kylan Ginn, as well as other family members and friends
