Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric William Bridger of Brighton, NL age 86, announces his passing, on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Valley Vista Seniors Complex, Springdale, NL.

Eric William was born on July 21, 1929 (his mom''s birthday) to Gideon and Lucy Bridger of Brighton, NL. On March 02, 1952 he married Lillian Mary Elizabeth Rideout and they had three boys and three girls, whom he was very proud of and loved deeply.

He was a man who loved many things in life, such as walking, being in the woods, and gardening. As a result of his love for gardening he grew his own vegetables, as well he had his own strawberry garden, he loved to pick the strawberries each year upon till his health failed him. Eric worked as a logger for part of his life''s career but for the majority of his career he was a construction worker. He took great pride in his work and worked diligently to provide for his family.

Eric is predeceased by his parents Gideon and Lucy Bridger; brother Roy Bridger; sister Marion Bridger.

Eric leaves to mourn wife Lillian Bridger; sons Glenn (Jean) Bridger, Wade (Barbara) Bridger, Brian (Lecia) Bridger; daughters Marilyn Bridger, Margaret Bridger, Marjorie (Ray) Fudge; grandchildren Trent Bridger (Laurel McKee), Stephen Bridger (Shari Palmer), Angela (Clinton) Fillier, Mark Fudge, Russell (Lori) Roberts, Nikki (Travis) Warman, Julia Bridger, Mindy (Adam) Snow, Renee (Corey) Snow, Richard Madol, David Bridger, Samantha Bartlett; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Eugene Bridger; sisters Audrey Fudge, Meta (Harvey) Blackler; as well as many other family members and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and never forgotten.

The Celebration of Life service was held from the Salvation Army Citadel, Triton, NL on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Captains Steven and Lynette Barrett officiating. Interment was at the Community Cemetery, Brighton, NL. Pallbearers were sons Glenn Bridger, Wade Bridger, Brian Bridger; son-in-law Ray Fudge; grandsons Steven Bridger, Mark Fudge . Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.

Donations: Flowers will be gratefully accepted, as well as donations can be made to a charity of one''s choice.
