Eileen Doris
Penney
Jan 8, 1951 — Aug 26, 2026
Springdale
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Doris Penney announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL aged 75 years.
Eileen—affectionately known to her friends as "Penney"—lived life completely on her own terms; always happy and had a smile for everyone. She was such a pure soul whose charm, wit, generosity, and just overall goodness radiated from her always. She was contagious; to be around her brought joy. Anyone fortunate enough to belong to her circle knew the depth of her love and loyalty. Being a part of her life was a true blessing.
She had an immense love for her family, her friends, and her beloved pets. A true lover of the outdoors, Penney was happiest when spending time at her cabin, cutting wood, and enjoying a traditional boil-up with a-cup-a-tea and bologna of course. She possessed a sharp, practical mind and could often be found working under the hood of a vehicle, building something or out on the trails riding her skidoo and quad, usually alongside her brother. She put her all into everything she had.
Penney was exceptionally gifted musically; she could play almost any instrument and sang straight from the heart. Whether playing her guitar, the accordion, or bringing laughter to the room as a comedian with her ugly stick and spoons, her music and vibrant spirit will forever be remembered. She brought light into every room ( or around a firepit) she entered and was the life of the party.
She is now peacefully reunited in Heaven with her family who went before her "havin' a time." While her spirit will be forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her, comfort is found in her final reassuring words that she was ready to go "Home" and that we will all meet again. She even agreed to save a seat for those who she loved the most.
Eileen leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memoires her brother, Ronnie (Marjorie) Penney; sisters, Bonnie (Richard) Grant, Pauline Follett, Rhonda Curtis; special nephews, Darryl (Son-like), Bobby; special niece, Shannon; special friend, Denise Power (Maggie); close friend, Clarice Hewlin (Abby); dog, Gizmo; cat, Allie; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Eileen is predeceased by her parents, Arthur & Doris Penney; brothers, Roy (Kay) Penney, George Penney, Eugene (Margaret) Penney, Barry (Phyllis) Penney, Glenn Penney, Derek Penney, Dennis Penney; sister, Doreen Blackler; brother-in-law, Norm McCreight.
In keeping with Eileen's wishes cremation has taken place and all services will remain private for family & invited friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Exploits Valley SPCA.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Green Bay Funeral Home, 145 Cpl. S. Blvd., Springdale, NL.
