It is with sadness that the family of the late Doreen Emma Yvonne Winsor of Triton, NL, announces her passing at the Lionel Kelland Hospice, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 85 years.

Doreen leaves to remember with fond and loving memories; her husband, Cecil (married on August 13, 1959 by Major Rideout); daughter, Colleen (Dean); 3 grandchildren, Denene (Tristan), Adam, and Brittany; and her pride and joy, her 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella and Jackson; brother, Allister (Nina); sisters, Maxine (Warrick), Primrose (Guy), and Carolann; nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Doreen is predeceased by her parents, Stafford and Nellie Roberts; parents-in-law, Arthur and Fanny Winsor; sisters, Marion and Cynthia; brother, Leonard; daughters, Winnie and Wavey; and granddaughter, Brandy.

In 2018, Doreen was diagnosed with cancer. She was strong willed and fought a good battle. She took 26 chemotherapy treatments plus oral chemotherapy and had such a positive attitude through the journey. Doreen was content to be home with her family and her wish was to stay home as long as possible (she lived in her home until August 1, 2025). She was compassionate and kind to all who knew her. She was faithful to the Salvation Army Triton Corps and attended her last open-air service on her 85th birthday, July 27/25.

Doreen loved life to the fullest and did not need much to be happy. She loved being in her home with her crossword puzzles, sewing and knitting, She loved her husband Cecil dearly and was a very loving mother and grandmother.  She provided so much love and guidance to her family.

The family wishes to thank Doreen's family and friends, Palliative Care team, home care worker, and the staff at Lionel Kelland Hospice for all of the support and kindness shown. Special thank you to Major's Sandra and Gary Ward and her church family for all your love and prayers; and to the staff of Green Bay Funeral Home for the compassion and care at this time.

The visitation will take place Friday, August 8, 2025 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at The Salvation Army Triton Brighton Corps, Triton, NL.

The funeral service will take place Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at The Salvation Army Triton-Brighton Corps, Triton, NL.

The interment will follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Triton, NL.
