Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doreen M. H. Rideout, age 91, of Beaumont, NL announces her passing on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home, Springdale.

Doreen Myrtle Hagar Croucher was born on November 29, 1926 to Enos and Constance Croucher. She was an only child. Doreen attended school and obtained a grade 10 education. Later in life Doreen married and had thirteen children.

She was known to be a very hard worker and very dedicated to her family. Doreen cut and sawed up her own firewood every year. She was also known as a lady who loved to cook and bake, not only for her family but for her friends. Doreen would spend hours knitting, embroidery, and making quilts for family members and friends. In making and doing things for other people she would also like for them (company) to come to her home to sit and chat, especially about "the good old days!'

One of the greatest things that Doreen loved to do was to attend church and give to her church in various ways. Reading her bible was very important and always wanted to encourage others from the scripture.

Doreen certainly fulfilled the scripture – Proverbs 28:10-31, her price being far above rubies. She was a woman/mother who feared and reverenced the Lord!

She is predeceased by her husband Arthur George Rideout Sr.; parents Enos and Constance Croucher; daughter Dorcas Rideout; sons Roger Rideout, Gilbert Rideout, Tinley Rideout, Arthur Rideout Jr.

Doreen leaves to mourn and remember the wonderful life that she lived, daughters Louise (Larry) Hannam, Patsy Rideout, Dorothy Rideout, Pearl (Wilson) Slade; sons Tony (Pearl) Croucher, Carl (Judy) Rideout, Allan Rideout, Peter Rideout; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, as well as other extended family and friends. Forever remembered and loved!

The Home Going Service took place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Lushes Bight, on August 9, 2018, with Pastor Janet Strickland officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Lushes Bight. Honorary pallbearer was son Carl Rideout. Pallbearers were sons-in-law Wilson Slade, Larry Hannam; grandsons Vance Feener, Kelly Croucher; cousin Harold Rideout; close friend Max Burton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.

Donations:
In her memory donations can be given to Faith Pentecostal Cemetery Fund, Lushes Bight, NL.
