Donald Pearce
Weir
Oct 5, 1938 — Feb 12, 2019
Triton, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Pearce Weir of Triton, NL, age 80, announces his passing on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale.
Surrounded by his family, on February 12, 2019, Don was Promoted to Glory into the presence of his Lord who received him and welcomed him Home.
Don was born to Albert and Emily Weir on October 5, 1938. He met his sweetheart Linda Lush and married her on February 24, 1966. Together they raised five children, who were the joy of his life. He treasured his three grandchildren.
Don worked hard to support his family. For many years he worked on the Shirley Ann W out of P.E.I. He also worked on the Kloster , owned by Dorman Roberts Ltd out of Triton, as a labourer, boats man and a cook.
He spent many hours with Don and Perry Budgell ' on the run ' collecting lobsters. This he did because he loved it so much and as a labour of love for his buddies.
Don took many daily walks to the Triton Post Office, even to Orv's store for Linda, just to get her cream puffs. Linda and Don would walk up the road after supper just to get a bake apple sundae.
Linda and Don attended The Salvation Army in Triton. He loved his Lord and enjoyed worshipping with his church family.
In April 2012, they moved to the Springdale Retirement Centre. They loved it there and enjoyed the wonderful staff and made many friends.
He left indelible memories for his family and friends to cherish forever.
He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Emily Weir; brothers Bruce Weir, Arthur Weir, Charlie Weir, Cyril Weir, Baxter Weir, Herber Weir; sister Minnie Goudie.
Donald leaves to remember the wonderful life that he lived, his wife Linda Weir; son Todd (Dana) Weir; Daughters Patricia (Oliver) Fudge, Michell Weir, Roxann Weir, Paulette (Chuck) Grenning; grandchildren Ryan Fudge, C.J. Grenning, Eileen Grenning; nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends.
