1941 - 2014 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis "Donald" Claud Oxford, age 72, of Botwood, NL announces his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Botwood, NL on October 04 2014. Donald was born at Robert''s Arm, NL October 12, 1941 to Blanche and Fredrick Oxford. He met and fell in love with Marion Eva Boone, whom he married November 28, 1975. Shortly thereafter they moved to Labrador City, NL where Donald worked with the Iron Ore Company of Canada until retirement in 2002. They moved to Botwood, NL in 2011 where he spent the remainder of his life with his beautiful wife. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him but never forgotten. He leaves to mourn: wife Marion; son Dion Oxford; daughter Darla (William) Woodman; granddaughter Cheyenne; brothers Malcolm Oxford (Karen) and Darrell Oxford (Jenny); sisters Joy Reid (Ron), Joan Moores (Wilburn) and Thelma Burton (Harold). Pre-deceased by parents Fredrick and Blanche Oxford; infant sister Fannie Oxford. Honorary pallbearer was: Dion Oxford (son). The pallbearers were Malcolm Oxford (brother); Ron Reid, Wilburn Moores and Ron Reid (brothers-in-law); Randy Colbourne (cousin) and Bob Fifield (friend). The Home Going Service took place from Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert''s Arm, NL on October 07, 2014, officiated by Pastor Bill Harnum assisted by Pastor Edwin White. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Chris Morgan, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford.
