Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Domino Roland Oake of Robert's Arm, NL, age 85, announces his passing, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Domino Oake, known to most as Domi, was born to Stanley and Fannie Oake on January 18, 1931. He married his wife Marion on December 16, 1954. They were blessed with five children.

Domi was a good provider; he worked most of his life as a plasterer/painter. He loved to sketch and paint in his spare time, he also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Later years after he gave his heart to the Lord he loved to play his Dobro guitar at church, open air meetings and many other functions.

He is predeceased by parents Stanley & Fannie Oake; brother Woodrow Oake; sisters-in-law Phyllis Oake, Shirley Oake; brother-in-law Andrew Burton.

Domino leaves to mourn wife Marion Oake; sons Brian (Louise) Oake, Monty Oake (Donna), Dean Oake (Zoe), Randy Oake (Christine); daughter Kathy (Ralph) Smith; brothers Raymond Oake, Carl Oake; sister Nellie Burton; grandchildren Sherman (Chakeolynn) Oake, Shannon Oake, Victoria Oake, Meyha Oake, Karson Oake, Sheldon Smith, Sara (Ronnie) Morey, Evan Smith, Jeremy Oake, Darcy Oake, Alex Oake, Robyn Oake; great-grandchildren: Kavelle, Emerly, Liam, Rylan, Brody, Harper, Joshua, Jax, Colton, as well as many other family members and friends.

He is dearly loved and will be forever missed. He is now playing in heaven's choir. Our loss is heaven's gain.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert's Arm, NL on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Foss officiating, assisted by Pastor Robert Paddock. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert's Arm, NL. Pallbearers were sons: Brian, Dean,Monty, and Radny Oake, nephews Ivan and Aubrey Oake. Honorary Pallbearer Robyn Oake (Granddaughter). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
