It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Noah Taylor of Robert's Arm, NL, age 91, announces his passing on Monday, April 29, 2019 from the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale.
Noah "Cyril" Taylor was born in Springdale on February 9, 1928 to Harold P. Taylor and Genetta "Nellie" Rowsell. He had one Sister Genetta. When he was 4 1/2 years old his mother passed away in childbirth on September 19, 1932. This had a profound effect on Cyril, he remembered that day in vivid detail all of his life and told the story many times.
Cyril's father went on to marry Daisy Morey of Miles Cove and had 13 more children; Olive, Rosie, Alma, Maisie, Clayton, Ada, Bruce, Derrick, Leona, Ford, Calvin, Dawson and Marjorie.
Cyril met the love of his life, Mary "Grace" Heath of Robert's Arm and in 1949 they were married. Together they parented 3 girls and 5 boys; Alice, Nellie, Ruth, Jerry, Charlie, Boyce, Terry and David.
Cyril was a man of God and was saved at the young age of 7 years old. He was a faithful member of the World of Life Tabernacle, Robert's Arm. He was a man of faith and always there to lend a faithful word when he felt it was needed.
Cyril had a long working career in many areas, including Logging, mining, sawmill operator and heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed many hobbies. Among them were fishing, hunting, making snowshoes and filing various types of saws.
Cyril is predeceased by his wife Grace Taylor; infant son; parents Harold and Nellie Taylor; stepmom Daisy Taylor; brothers Calvin Taylor, Ford Taylor; sisters Genetta Bennett, Olive Rodrique, Leona Pinsent; daughter-in-law Sharon Taylor; son-in-law Terry Ryan.
He leaves to remember the wonderful life that he lived, sons Jerry (Brenda) Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Boyce Taylor (Lori Kennedy), Terry (Denise) Taylor, David (Tammy) Taylor; daughters Alice Ryan (Ted Prystupa), Nellie (Everett) Roberts, Ruth (Henry) Hewlett; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brothers Clayton (Elsie) Taylor, Bruce (Vera) Taylor, Dawson (Ruth) Taylor, Derrick (Brenda) Taylor; sisters Rose (Gordon) Peckham, Alma (Ivan) Pittman, Maisie Locke, Ada (Don) Paddock, as well as other family members and friends. He left indelible memories for his family and friends to cherish forever.
"Ever Remembered, Ever Loved – Gone But Not Forgotten!"
The Celebration of Life service was held from Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert's Arm, on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Laun Brushett officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert's Arm. The pallbearers were grandchildren Bruce Taylor, Bobby Taylor, Rudy Roberts, Stephanie Taylor, Jennie-Lee Thomas, Tammy-Lee Campbell. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
