It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Gordon Reid of Springdale, NL age 82, announces his passing, on Saturday, September 05, 2015 at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL.

Cyril was born to Loderick and Deborah Reid on May 25, 1933 in Miles Cove, NL. He later married Madeline Hustins and together they had four girls: Cynthia, Elaine, Dana, and Roslyn.

Cyril lived for his family and God. He taught his girls just as he lived - always faithful and kind, never a harsh word for anyone. He worked tirelessly to ensure his family had all the necessities of life.

He was a Godly man and served many years as a church board member and Sunday school teacher.

Anyone who knew him can attest to his great love of God, his work ethics, and his knowledge of the work he did for many years. A jack of all trades'', a master mechanic, and skilled labour.

"Bring it to Cyril b''y. If he can''t fix it, then it''s ready for the dump".

He will always be remembered for his many outstanding qualities. Anyone who spent five minutes of time with him has been given an awesome Gift from God''!

He is predeceased by his parents Loderick and Deborah Reid.

Cyril leaves to mourn wife Madeline Reid; daughters Cynthia (Joseph) Verge, Elaine (Ronald) Findlay, Dana (Vaden) Fagner, Roslyn (Norm) Beauchamp ; grandchildren Michael (Jennifer) Verge, Terence (Melissa) Verge, Vanessa (Byran) Evans, Nicole Findlay, Ryan Reid, Katrina Findlay, Tyler Reid, Jessica Beauchamp; great-grandchildren Caleb Verge, Emma Verge, Aiden Findlay, David Evans, Anastasia Evans; brothers Ross (Marjorie) Reid, Lloyd (Karen) Reid, Freeman (Joan) Reid, Selby (Ruth) Reid, Len (Inez) Reid; sisters: Rosie (Henry) Short, Shirley (Wallace) Rowsell, Hazel (Lawrence) Hewlett; as well as nieces, nephews, many other extended family members and friends.

Cyril will be truly missed by all who knew him, he will never be forgotten, and his memory will stay alive within the hearts of his family and friends.

The Home Going service was held from Springdale Pentecostal Church, Springdale, NL on Tuesday, September 08, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Norman Joy officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Springdale, NL. Pallbearers were grandsons Michael Verge, Terence Verge, Tyler Reid, Ryan Reid; brother-in-law Neil Hustins; friend Cyril Goudie. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Hancock, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
