Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of the late Catherine Diane Fudge, age 58, of Brighton, announces her promotion to Glory on July 1, 2021. Catherine was born to Ford and Ida Fudge on October 21, 1962

Left to mourn, with wonderful memories, are her father Ford Fudge; Siblings, Donald Fudge (Pansy), Brian Fudge (Monica), Jerdon Fudge, Michael Fudge (Ruthie); Sisters Gloria Fudge, Sherry Roberts (Keith).

Pre-deceased by her mother Ida Fudge; brother  Tony Fudge; sister, Coralie Fudge; Grandparents, Roland and Netta Fudge, Selby and Althea Verge

Catherine graduated from high school at the young age of 15 and started work right away.  Her first job was a store clerk for Frank and Josie Fudge in Brighton.  From that she moved to St. John's and worked at a convenience store. After spending several years in St. John's, she moved back to Brighton and helped out her mother at the post office.  She became very involved with the community by taking part in the church activities, Home League, town council and recreation.  Wherever there was a need for help, she was there.    Catherine was also well known for remembering birthdays and anniversary and loved to send out cards to everyone.  She could even remember an anniversary when the couples couldn't.

She then began working full time for Canada post which she continued to do so until October 2013 when her health began to deteriorate and make it very difficult for her to work.   Over the next 7 years, she struggled with many health issues which then made it very difficult for her to even get outside.   This past year, she has spent most of the time in and out of the hospital further weakening her body. We could see how things the doctors would do previously that would help, had stopped working. She recently spent 3 weeks in GFW hospital and they sent her home to be cared for in her home. On Tuesday , June 29 she become terrible ill and had to return to the hospital yet again.  At this point, she was tired and exhausted and just needed peace.  And at 730pm July 1, with her family surrounding her, she got her wish.  She drifted off peacefully to her eternal home. Catherine was a woman of God and served the Lord all of her life.

The Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance   was held from The Salvation Army, Triton, Nl. on Monday July 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Majors Terry and Roxann Feltham officiating. Interment was at the Brighton Community Cemetery.
