It was with great sadness that the family of the late Carl B. Newbury, age 70, of Springdale, NL announces his passing on January 06, 2017 from the Central NL Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Carl was born to Bertie & Annie Newbury at Shoe Cove Bight. They moved to King's Point at a very young age. During his working years Carl spent time working in the logging industry, cutting and trucking. During his time working Carl was also engaged in fish plant work, mining industry and as a laborer. Because of medical issues Carl had to retire from work early.

Carl married Adeline Froude in 1969 and together they raised 3 children. He enjoyed his grandchildren and was dedicated to them! Carl loved his children and was a faithful member of Springdale Pentecostal Church and passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on January 6th.

He was predeceased by his parents Bertie and Annie Newbury.

Carl leaves to mourn his wife Adeline Newbury; sons Tony (Loretta) Newbury, Bradley Newbury; daughter Cavell (Jordan) Chaulk; grandchildren Isaac Chaulk, Julian Chaulk, Aaron Chaulk, Karen Chaulk, Travis Newbury, Erica Newbury, Amy Lyne; great-grandchildren Jasper, McCarthy, Josiah Curtis, Peyton Newbury, Jayden Lyne, Joshua Lyne; sister Cavell (Hedley) Rodgers; brothers Sidney (Olive) Newbury, Ira (Genevieve) Newbury, Wayne (Marion) Newbury, and a number of close family and friends.

He will be missed by all who knew him. He is now safe in the arms of his Lord. Gone but not forgotten!

The Home Going service was held from Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Pastor L. Foster officiating, assisted by Pastor N. Joy. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Cherry Crescent, Springdale, NL. Honorary pallbearer was grandson Aaron Chaulk. Pallbearers were sons Tony Newbury, Bradley Newbury; grandchildren Julian Chaulk, Karen Chaulk; brother-in-law Russell Froude; friend Alfred Austin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Bill Weeks, Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
