Beloved daughter to Donald & Hilda Hewlett, born in Roberts Arm, NL., on December 18, 1939. She was one of eight children, with six sisters and one brother.

In the early months of 1959, while attending church, she met her future husband, Ernest Austin, who was visiting, alongside a guest pastor. On that very evening, she knew that this was the man that she would marry, and in just a few short months, on October 10th, they were blissfully wed. Together, they raised six children; being a wife and mother was her greatest passions in life. Her devotion to her family, and her love for God gave her so much purpose in life and filled her heart with unimaginable joy.  She was loved by so many people! Everyone who had ever met her was blessed by her kind and giving nature. She always gave with a full and happy heart, and never wanting anything in return.

Her wonderful sense of humor was evident through her beautiful laugh and her ability to make others smile even in their darkest of days. Her bright spirit and happy -go- lucky personality drew everyone close no matter near or far. Everyone loved to be in her company. Her favorite pastime was knitting. Socks were her garment of choice. Not only did she warm the hearts of everyone she touched, but also ensured that they had warm feet as well! She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, for she lives in the hearts and minds of all who have been graced to have had her in their lives. Although her passing has left an unfillable void in our hearts, it gives us comfort to know that she is reunited with the love of her life and rejoicing with the angels in the arms of the Lord.
