It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Betty Elizabeth Rideout (nee Rowsell) of Robert's Arm, NL, age 74, announces her passing on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Betty is   predeceased by father Ernest Rowsell Sr.

She leaves to leaves to remember with loving memories of the wonderful life she shared, her husband Alwin Rideout; children Terrance (Melinda) Rideout, Sherry (Hayward) Mitchell, Janice (Ron) Walsh, Brad Rideout (Jackie Roberts), Darren (Daisy) Rideout, Coralee (Wilfred) Roberts, Marcella (Hank) Strickland; grandchildren Preston Mitchell, Tiffany Roberts, Tyrone (Samantha) Rideout, Natasha Rideout, Cody Charlie, Immanuel Rideout; great-grandchildren Harrison Marshall, Shae Holwell; mother Pearl Rowsell; daughter-in-law Zena Newbury; siblings Joan (Roy) Rowsell, Claude Rowsell (Alma Mudge), Bruce (Judy) Rowsell, Brenda (Jerry) Taylor, Bonnie (Terry) Wheeler, Terry (Jean) Rowsell; as well as a large number of other extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Betty was the eldest child of Ernest and Pearl Rowsell.  She was born in Robert's Arm on September 10th, 1947.  The love of her life was Alwin and they married on October 25th, 1963 and together brought their 7 cherished children into the world.  Her family grew and she was delighted to see grandchildren arrive to brighten her life.

Betty enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends.  She had a huge collection of Cook Books which she would look through to find her next dish. Among her other hobbies was doing puzzles and making quilts.  Betty also enjoyed keeping in contact with distant family and friends on her iPad.  Not someone who liked idle time, she was constantly busy doing various tasks around the house.

The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all whom contributed through the many expressions of love, concern, and kindness shown to them during their time of bereavement and sadness. Coralee and Marcella, would also like to recognize and give thanks to the staff at Central Health for their care, concern, and compassion towards them during their Mom's stay.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Word of Life Tabernacle, on August 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Elaine M. Rideout officiating, assisted by Pastors Craig Gaulton, Matthew Meade and Bob Mills. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert's Arm. Pallbearers were grandsons Tyrone Rideout, Preston Mitchell; sons-in-law Wilfred Roberts, Hayward Mitchell, Ron Walsh, Hank Strickland.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
