It is with saddened hearts that the family and friends of the late Benny King of Pilley's Island, NL, age 66, announces his passing on May 19, 2023. Benny leaves to remember with fond and loving memories brothers; Charles Ross King (Nancy), Clyde King Derrick King; sisters; Patsy King, Mable Strickland (Roy), Madge Roberts (Kenneth), Faye Whalen; like a mom Geraldine Moores; like sisters and brothers Michael Moores (Mariann), Rhonda Moores (Calvin), Kimberly Simms (Ivan), Terry-Lee Roberts (Rodney); like a daughter Leanne Strickland (Nathan); two very special boys Lux and Noah Strickland; special family Tonya, Timothy, Sandra, Jessica, Serena, Shae-Lynn; special friends Terry Whalen and Floyd Whalen.

Benny is predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Alma; brothers Pearce King, Curtis King, Gilbert King, Gerald King, Tony King; sister Jeanette Whalen; brothers-in-law Nelson Whalen, Gerald Whalen.

Benny was a man who you could hear humming or singing, he loved the song grey foggy day. Benny had a laugh like no other and enjoyed life to the fullest, especially with his two special boys Lux and Noah.

Benny was a retired OCI fish plant worker, he spent most of his life working in the fishing industry, something that he loved. He was a great outdoorsman who enjoyed rabbit hunting with his good buddy Terry Whalen, picking blueberries, and trouting/ice fishing.

There are no words to describe Benny other than he is just Benny.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army Robert's Arm, NL on May 23, 2023, at 2 pm with Lieut. Col. Sandra Rice officiating. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Pilley's Island. The honorary pallbearer was Leanne Strickland(like a daughter); Pallbearers were Charlie King, Randy Butt, Andy Simms, Nathan Strickland, Corinne Whalen, Floyd Whalen, and Maurice Whalen .

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Andrea Cole of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.

He will be forever in our hearts!
