It is with great sadness that the family of the late Beatrice Blanche Clarke, age 93, of Springdale, NL announces her passing at Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL on May 01, 2015.
Beatrice Clarke was born in Springdale on May 20, 1921 to Blanche and Azariah Butt. She was a loving daughter and sister to her 6 brothers and one sister. As a 14 year old, she set out on the Gospel Messenger (Pentecostal coastal boat) for the Horse Islands to work 'in service' with a family there. It was while she lived there she gave her heart to the Lord and served Him faithfully for the rest of her life. She went on to work with her Uncle, Pastor Phil Butt's family where she learned Godly servanthood.
On July 10, 1941 Beatrice married her loving husband Lloyd Brooks Clarke. Her joys were multiplied when she gave birth to 12 children, 5 sons and 7 daughters.
For the next 73 years, she gave unwavering love and support to her family that could not be surpassed. There was never any doubt about her commitment to her family.
She loved life and lived it to the fullest. From caring for in-laws, her parents, her children and neighbors and friends, she faithfully cooked, cleaned, baked, sewed, knit, visited, prayed and wept. She arose 'at the crack of dawn' every morning to face the challenges of each day.
The joy of the Lord was her strength. She loved to laugh, entertain, talk on the phone, shop and travel at every opportunity. She lived a sacrificial life of giving to others. Up to her last days, her concern for others was unwavering. Whether she gave a bottle of soup, a loaf of bread, a pair of mitts or socks, a quilt or a few dollars, she exemplified 'giving.'
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her crowning glory. They all adored her for all the love she poured into them. Only a woman of God like she was could have given so much love to all.
In recent years she loved to read, sing, listen to sermons on her IPad and TV and pray unceasingly. Her circle of family and friends were bathed in prayer daily.
She has been a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend up to her homegoing to Heaven. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is predeceased by parents Azariah and Blanche Butt; husband Lloyd Clarke (2000); sons Samuel Clarke (1941) and Freeman Clarke (1998); sister Mildred Parsons; brothers: Roy Butt, Walter Butt, and Lloyd Butt; son-in-law John Cook.
Beatrice leaves to mourn daughters Jean (Orville) Newbury, Bonnie (Ronald) Bouzann, Mildred (Eugene) Young, Kay Clarke, Loretta (Dennis) Mouland, Marilyn Clarke, and Myra (David) Thomas; sons Ivan (Beulah) Clarke, Roy (Sherry) Clarke, and Ronald (Brenda-Lee) Clarke; daughter-in-law Rose Clarke; brothers Ford (Georgina) Butt, Fredrick (Linda) Butt, and Baxter Butt; 26 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends who were all very special to her.

Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Springdale, NL. The pallbearers were son Ronald Clarke; sons-in-law Orville Newbury, Ronald Bouzann, Eugene Young; grandsons William Clarke, Aaron Thomas.
