It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Barbara Dalley, of Springdale, NL, age 70, announces her promotion to glory Thursday, November 4, 2021, from her residence in Springdale. Barbara is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mary Saunders; granddaughter Chelsea Thomas; sister Jean Saunders; brothers Robert Saunders, Wayne Saunders, Paul Saunders; sister-in-law Phyllis Saunders.

Barbara leaves to remember the wonderful life that she lived, her loving husband Jim Dalley; daughters Lori-Ann (Keith) Anstey, Lisa (Curtis) Thomas; grandchildren Samantha Thomas, Timothy Anstey, Joey Thomas; sisters Ruby (Victor) Kelly, Gladys (Clyde) Dove, Joy (Shawn) Weir; brothers Donald Saunders, David (Ruby) Saunders, Dennis Saunders (Marian Radomirov), Kevin (Rose) Saunders, Boyd (Colleen) Saunders, Byron (Ada) Saunders; sisters-in-law Judy Noseworthy, Nina Saunders.

On September 16, 1951 Arthur and Mary welcomed their first baby girl to their family. Barb grew up in a large and loving family, attended the Salvation Army east end school. She worked at Green Bay Health Care for many years, where she retired. She later met the love of her life, Jim Dalley. They were married on a cold January 21, 1972. Together they raised two children and were blessed with four grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Her family was the world to her. Getting together with family, especially at special times, was highly valuable for her. She became the 'strength' or 'the pillar' of the family after mom and dad had passed. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and siblings.

Barb loved life! She enjoyed sewing, especially with her different groups. Dennis' sewing loft will miss her. Baking and cooking was a delight for her and if someone was in need, Barb was always there to bake or cook a meal for them. Many people were recipients of her 'lassy' buns. Her last pot of soup, that she shared and bottled, just hours before she passed, will be cherished. Shopping with family and her buddies was always a blast. Spending fun times with family and friends was paramount for her and they loved to be around her to experience this joy and fun times with her. 'Barbie' was fun to be around. She loved to joke and made funny remarks followed by a big smile. A high education wasn't her goal, but she excelled in simple wisdom, kindness, care and love.

Barb was a strong believer in God, whom she loved to praise and worship. She loved to sing the worship choruses. That love for her Lord led her to be a faithful member of her church. She was very involved in several church groups such as Home League, Prayer Breakfast and Joy Fellowship.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.... She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:" Proverbs 31:10, 27-28

Donations in her memory can be made to The Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.

The Celebration of Life service was held from The Salvation Army, Springdale on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Majors Joshua & Pauline officiating. Interment was at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Springdale. Pallbearers were brothers David Saunders, Kevin Saunders, Byron Saunders; son-in-law Keith Anstey; grandsons Joey Thomas, Timothy Anstey. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Harry Oxford and Julia Budgell of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
