It is with heavy hearts that the family of Audrey June Hart (known to all as June) announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor, following a courageous journey with cancer. She was 71 years old.

Born in Smiths Harbour to Harold and Susan Squires, June spent most of her life in Pilley's Island. For nearly 53 years, she and her husband, Clarence, built a quiet, steady life together. June was a woman who found her greatest comfort in the small, simple joys of home. She was an exceptional cook, and her kitchen was often filled with the smell of her legendary homemade bread.

In her younger years, June could often be found up on the hills of Bumblebee Bight picking berries or enjoying long summer evening walks with her sister-in-law, Leona, and her late sister, Melvina. While she was a private person who preferred the quiet of home and the joy of visits from her grandchildren over large social gatherings, she was never without a word-search puzzle nearby and found great peace in the rhythm of her daily life.

June leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband of nearly 53 years, Clarence; her daughters, Darlene (Tony) and Daphne; and her cherished grandchildren, Maggie (Spenser) and Samuel. She is also survived by her sisters, Jessie (Gordon), Marina, Zella (Roy), and Louise (Dean); her brothers, Neil and Tom (Sandra); and a large circle of brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. June was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Susan Squires; her sisters, Hettie and Melvina; and her niece, Bernetta, and nephew, Richard.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the United Church in Pilley's Island. For those wishing to pay a private final goodbye, a period of visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm, immediately preceding the service.

The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Lionel Kelland Hospice. In recognition of the exceptional, donation-funded care they provide, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in June's memory to the Hospice to ensure other families receive the same comfort and support.
