Allan Maxwell
Dicks
Feb 18, 1935 — Mar 27, 2018
South Brook, NL
It is with sadness that the family of the late Allan Maxwell Dicks announces that he passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's.
Allan was born to Merrick and Irene Dicks on February 18, 1935 of South Brook, NL. He later met and eventually married the love of his life - Marjorie, September 11, 1965 and together they had four children. Then they were blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom they deeply admired and cherished.
For most of his life, Allan was a logger and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed picking berries, snaring rabbits, and going for outings on his quad. His family meant the world to him and it caused him great pleasure when they came home to visit.
God and music went hand in hand with Allan. He loved playing the guitar and singing the old hymns of the church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His body was tired and he longed to be freed from the chains of his mortal body. He will always hold a special place in his families' lives, full of memories of how he has shaped their futures and guided them to believe that God is always in control. Heaven has gained another angel.
Allan is predeceased by his parents Merrick and Irene (England) Dicks, baby brother Robert Dicks; brothers Bill Dicks, Eric Dicks, Don Dicks; sisters Georgina Chartrand, Vena LeBlanc.
Leaving to remember with fond and loving memories are his wife Marjorie Dicks of 52 years; sons Ross Dicks (Yvette Penny), Robert (Deanna) Dicks; daughters Rosalyn (Ward) Kinsella, Audrey (Chris) Burton; grandchildren Beverly (Andy) Lessard, Cory (Kayla) Dicks, Michelle Dicks, Sabrina (Clint) Buhler, Michael Dicks, Josh Dicks, Jordan Dicks, Madison Burton, Shelby Burton, Julia Kinsella; great-grandchildren Dominic Lessard, Deeghan Lessard, Amelia Buhler, Anaya Buhler, Nolan Buhler, Naomi Buhler, Addeline Dicks; brothers Lenard Dicks, Sam (Alva) Dicks, Wilf (Jean) Dicks; sisters Clare Dicks, Ruby Spencer, Audrey (Terry) Leveque, Rose Glidden, Linda (Henry) Handsley, as well as other extended family and friends.
