Alfreda Jane Goudie was born to Amos and Salome Goudie on May 4, 1938.

Freda, as she was known, married Wesley (Wes) Smith. Together they had six children, one of which passed away when only an infant.

Wes passed away after a lengthy illness in 1988. Freda later met and married Bon Mitchell of Middle Arm, NL who passed away March 8, 2007.

She loved her children dearly and she took so much pride in her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Mudder".

Freda loved quilting, knitting, and crocheting; she took great pride in her handiwork. She will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Freda is predeceased by1st husband Wesley Smith; 2nd husband Bon Mitchell; infant child Johnny Smith; parents Amos & Salome Goudie; stepmother Alma Goudie; brothers Roy Goudie, Ralph Goudie, Melvin Goudie.

She leaves to mourn and remember the life that she lived, her sons Ivan (Bernice) Smith, Ralph-Hop (Kathy) Smith, Ernie (Marina) Smith; daughters Trudy (Ford) Taylor, Gail (Woodrow) Gray; grandchildren Nicole (Blair) Winsor, Jennifer (Reggie) Morey, Paul (Jennifer) Smith, Julie (Johnny) Blanchard, Ian (Shelly) Taylor, Trevor (Penney) Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Sheldon Smith, Sarah (Ronnie) Morey, Evan Smith, Nathan Smith (Lennea Jolliffe), Jenna Smith; a large number of great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Shirley) Goudie, Bill (Joan) Goudie, Junior (Phyllis) Clarke, Harvey (Shirley) Clarke; sisters Patsy (Ernie) Muise, Stella (Roy) Hamlyn, Gwendolyn (Lloyd) Cool, Jayne (Whylie) Earl; as well as many other family members and friends.

The Home Going service was held from Redemption Pentecostal Tabernacle, Port Anson, NL on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bryce Austin officiating, assisted by Pastor Bill Harnum. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Port Anson, NL. Honorary pallbearer was grandson Evan Smith. Pallbearers were her grandchildren Trevor Taylor, Ian Taylor, Zachery Taylor, Paul Smith, Nathan Smith, Sheldon Smith. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Bill Weeks, Elaine M. Rideout, and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale, NL.
