It is with sadness that the family of the late Albert Chesley Colbourne, age 86, of Robert's Arm, NL announces his passing from the Central NL Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor on October 4, 2020.

Albert Chesley Colbourne was born on December 3, 1933 to Jessie and Genevea Colbourne of Pilley's Island, NL.

As a child he worked hard in the woods with his father. At the age of 20 he met Effie Marie Thomas and later married on December 16, 1955. Together they had 8 children, whom he loved dearly; family was very important to Albert. He worked very hard to provide for his family and took much pride in providing for them. Albert worked as a winch boat operator with Bowaters in his early years and then took on many different types of employment after, taking him all over Atlantic Canada to continue to provide for his family. Albert's family circle grew from 8 children to be a family of 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, which all was loved dearly and the family will continue to grow from there.

Albert had a great love for the outdoors; where he loved to go into the woods to cut wood, rabbit catch, and pick berries. He also had a love for out on the water in boat to catch a few cod; another way to provide for his much cherished family.

He will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him; but their memories of their times spent together will forever live on in their hearts and lives.

He was predeceased by his parents Jessie and Genevea Colbourne; grandson Bruce Colbourne; great-granddaughter Mercedes Colbourne Rideout; brothers Reg Colbourne, Ron Colbourne; sisters Hyacinth, Joyce Parsons.

Leaving with a lifetime of memories are his wife Effie Colbourne; sons Raymond (Vera) Colbourne, Lester (Karen) Colbourne, Randy (Hazel) Colbourne; daughters Doreen Croucher, Vera (Bruce) Taylor, Nada Colbourne, Linda (Shawn) Muise, Donna (Tony) Roberts; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Fred (Effie) Colbourne; sisters Marion (Chesley) Heath, Annie Heath, Una Strickland; nephews and nieces and a large number of other relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Life service was held from Word of Life Tabernacle, Robert's Arm, on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Laun Brushett officiating. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert's Arm. The honorary pallbearer was brother Fred Colbourne. The pallbearers were sons Raymond Colbourne, Lester Colbourne, Randy Colbourne; daughters Doreen Croucher, Vera Taylor, Donna Roberts. Arrangements were entrusted to Elaine M. Rideout and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
